Why does it hurt?

Why does it ache~

I always feel I need to cry

Though crying doesnt do much at all

It just feels a little better when the tears fall

But y'know ... just crying isn't enough

It's a true statement. You are loved. Not by me. Not in a sappy-mushy kind of way that just gives you a hug when you feel like it. But in the way that C.S. Lewis once put it:

"Love is not affectionate feeling, but a steady wish for the loved person's ultimate good as far as it can be obtained."

This is the kind of love a real awesome God has for you. He, who created the universe and everything in it, concocted the perfect plan to take you back to his side. The true friend's, or what I sometimes call the "lover's", simple declaration of "I care for you so much, I would die for you" was tested and proven on the cross by Jesus Christ.

Most people look for this kind of trustworthy love and acceptance in other people (parents, friends, lovers… yes, even pets) and are failed about 100% of the time because we (humans) all mess up in someway or another. Not so with God. He cares for you too much to leave you where you're at now.

Apathetically going through the motions? Down in despair and can't up? Anger and grudges holding onto you so tight you can't breathe? Has pride built walls around you and the people you love? Are you experiencing a lust that you can't get escape from? Waves of discontentment continually crashing over you? Insecurity causing you to waver? The list goes on and on... Seriously, these things aren't healthy for you at all!!! God wants the best for you but "God can't give us peace and happiness apart from Himself because there is no such thing"

Because of sin, your sin, you are condemned to a fiery hell-hole (literally) forever to be separated from the love of a wonderful God. However, there's astoundingly good news for you! Taking on your punishment, Jesus died and rose again for the hope of having your sins forgiven so that you may experience that love at it's fullest as a child of the living God. This is simply amazing once truly comprehended.

This is the glorious God who loves me, and with whom I continue to fall in love everyday.

So there you have it. You are loved by someone who is gloriously awesome. But the question is now... Will you let Him have your love?
